On December 2nd, the "Okinari no Michi Walk in Annaka" was held in Annaka City, Gunma Prefecture, where participants walked along the former post towns and roads that were used to transport gold and silver produced in Sado to Edo during the Edo period.

The event was organized by Sado City with the aim of building momentum for the Sado Gold and Silver Mine to be registered as a World Heritage Site and promoting exchanges with the areas along the Golden Road. Approximately 70 participants, dressed in period costumes, walked approximately 12 kilometers to the former Usui County Office, stopping at the former Annaka Domain samurai tenement houses and other sites to deepen their understanding of local history.

The walking event will begin in Sado in September and continue in Izumozaki in October. The next event will be held in Itabashi Ward, Tokyo on December 9th.
